Actions of Cannabidiol or CBD

 

The plant Cannabis contains 85 cannabinoids that are active. Out of these, CBD or cannabidiol is the least active. CBD accounts for more than 40 percent of cannabis’s extract. CBD, the major phyto- cannabinoid of the plant, is considered more potent for medical applications than the other medically useful extract of the plant THC or Tetra- Hydro- Cannabinol. Epidiolex, the drug used for treating Dravet Syndrome has CBD as its main ingredient.

Antimicrobial

Acne occurs because of excessive sebum production inside the subcutaneous skin layers of the skin. CBD when absorbed transcutaneously lowers the sebum production levels and provides relief from acne and other skin ailments.
